History of Sitsirya Sari-Sari

Sitsirya Sari-Sari, originally Burp Food Enterprises, is founded by Ofrace and Era Ocampo. It was inspired by Mr. Ofrace’s family tradition of bringing home pasalubongs to their loved ones. The business started when they both become jobless in 1983. After months of job hunting, they lose hope but found an opportunity to put up a business when his father-in-law passed away. With only Php10,000, which was actually borrowed from the burial donations, they were able to set up their first store with on a table space inside a small supermarket.
It was 1984 when they first started selling Filipino kakanin. Fast forward to 2001, they were able to set up their first mall-based outlet and had the chance to expand after that. Since then, they’ve been featured in several television shows and publications such as The Philippine Star, CNN Philippines’ RealTalk, Islands Living, COOK Culinary Magazine, Yummy Magazine, Manila Bulletin, and many more.
