Teleperformance Philippines Welcomes SHRM President & CEO

Teleperformance Philippines shares best practices with SHRM President & CEO Johnny Taylor Jr.

Teleperformance Philippines welcomed Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) President & CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. at its Business site in Taguig City to share the company’s best practices in human resource management. Taylor was joined by Achal Khanna, CEO for SHRM India and the Business Head over Asia Pacific and Middle-East and North Africa. SHRM is the world’s largest HR organization with around 300,000 members in more than 165 countries, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.

Taylor met with Teleperformance Philippines’ Human Capital Resource Management (HCRM) leaders and listened to their stories on what they have learned by running successful employee engagement programs. Taylor, who is also a White House appointee holding the role of Chairman of the President’s Advisory Board on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, is an advocate of continuous education. Through this best practices sharing, he gathered insights and business intelligence on people programs effective in the global IT and Business Process Management industry, which consists of large corporations employing a huge workforce, a large percentage of whom are millennials.

Teleperformance Philippines, which employs nearly 40,000 people in its 19 business sites around the country, is one of the largest employers in the Philippines. It is the first company in the country to be certified Great Place to Work® by global consulting firm Great Place to Work® Institute. A global brand, Teleperformance has been in the Philippines for 22 years, supporting efforts to build additional competency, especially in the areas of customer experience management, leadership skills, and technological innovation.

Taylor expressed admiration for the non-traditional HCRM structure that Teleperformance Philippines has built. The fact that HCRM’s comprehensive menu of people services include Facilities and Administration, as well as Communications and Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility – integrating with other Human Resources, Recruiting, and Learning & Development programs – demonstrates a true people-focus that differentiates the company from many other organizations.

“We are happy to share our stories with Mr. Taylor, SHRM, and other HR practitioners,” said Jeffrey Johnson, Teleperformance Philippines’ Senior Vice President of HCRM. “Teleperformance is committed to SHRM’s vision of progressing the HR profession worldwide.”

“The lessons we have learned through our years of exploring different ways of engaging and inspiring our people validate Mr. Taylor’s insights — that people gain most from having inspiring leaders, and that HR practice can indeed help people realize their meaningful contribution to making a difference in the world today”.

The visit is part of Taylor’s first official visit to the country, including headlining the SHRM CEO & CXO Network Breakfast Forum that gathered over a hundred SHRM CEOs and people leaders in the Philippines for executive learning and discussions on global and transparent leadership. The forum also featured Rep. Mark Go of the Lone District of Baguio City as keynote speaker. The event is convened by SHRM Education Partner in the Philippines, Asia Select, which offers differentiated learning options for HR professionals in partnership with SHRM.

Teleperformance Philippines co-presented the event, which also partnered with the local industry associations including the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham).
